Why Handwriting Analysis?

What can I tell you by looking at your handwriting?

The science/art of handwriting analysis – also known as “graphology” – is the process of determining personality traits by looking at one’s handwriting. In the Library of Congress, graphology will be found under “Applied Psychology.”

Simply stated, handwriting is a form of behavior. Behavior is the interaction of ego and environment. When one starts to write, the pen and movement of the hand represent the ego, the paper becomes the environment. It’s sometimes referred to as “brain writing” since the brain really controls the hand. The hand just happens to be the most capable appendage we have to write with, but never forget the paraplegics who learn to write holding the writing instrument with their feet, or even their mouth.

Handwriting can reveal dozens of clues to one’s personality, including these to mention just a few:

  • Are you really an introvert or an extrovert?
  • How quickly do you learn?
  • Are you a good listener?
  • Do you have leadership ability?
  • How have your parents influenced you?
  • How high are your goals?
  • Are you a procrastinator?
  • Are you angry at your spouse?
  • Can you be trusted? (Or can the person whose writing you are looking at?)

There is nothing of the “psychic” or “para-normal” about handwriting analysis. It doesn’t predict or reveal one’s future, but it can be very helpful in determining whether a particular job or goal will be a good fit for your gifts and talents.

No “assessment” can claim 100% accuracy. At best, they are a snapshot of who you are at the present time. But probably the biggest advantage of handwriting analysis is that it is the only assessment that does not depend on the honesty of the person’s answers. A competent and trained handwriting analyst will be able to help you “hold up the mirror” and see who you ARE rather that who you are projecting yourself to be.
